The Great Goal of Hue-manimal Existence
It is to the mind of perfect poise, housed in a body of clean habits, stabilized neural energies, and balanced chemical function—when the physical, mental, and spiritual powers are in triune harmony of development—that a maximum of light and truth can be imparted with a minimum of temporal danger or risk to the real welfare of such a being. By such a balanced growth does man ascend the circles of planetary progression one by one, from the seventh to the first.
On the Path to Understanding the "Mastery of Self"
It is accurate to say that "understanding" the 28 principles of "high mortal philosophy" found in Paper 48, The Morontia Life required the asking of many questions and not a small amount of meditative thinking on them.
There is no amount of talking and no attempt at inspiring which will move the mountain in front of the mind which is not ready to lift himself and herself from beLIEf into living faith.
Only "living faith" has the power to "move mountains."
Expressing Ideals Approaching the Divine
- Have you ever really stopped yourself long enough to meditate upon in worship (cosmic insight) of our Paradise Father what it really means to be endowed with both the gift of personality and a divine spirit-fragment, known as the Thought Adjuster?
- Do you really and truly comprehend that both of these mystery gifts, which are "beyond hue-man understanding," connect you directly to our Paradise Father?
5:6.10 The personality circuit of the universe of universes is centered in the person of the Universal Father, and the Paradise Father is personally conscious of, and in personal touch with, all personalities of all levels of self-conscious existence. And this personality consciousness of all creation exists independently of the mission of the Thought Adjusters.
5:6.11 As all gravity is circuited in the Isle of Paradise, as all mind is circuited in the Conjoint Actor and all spirit in the Eternal Son, so is all personality circuited in the personal presence of the Universal Father, and this circuit unerringly transmits the worship of all personalities to the Original and Eternal Personality.
Our Paradise Father is personally in contact with each of us, but the great question, in relationship to this phenomena is...- Are you personally in touch with our Paradise Father?
- Do you communicate with him, as you would your closest of true friends?
- Or is Father just a "distant ideal" within your mind?
- Is He just the "impersonal God" to you?
- Or is Father the closest relationship you have in your mortal life path journey?
The "Inner Ideal" Must Manifest as the "Outer True Character" Personality
The "inner ideal" is just the first stone on the climb to the
mountain top of self-mastery, whereon and wherein we become the Thought Adjuster and the Thought Adjuster becomes us.
It is in this attainment to "divine oneness" with the indwelling Thought Adjuster, wherein translation out of the lower energy-system life form and the highest divine spirit life form fuse into the new universe creature -- a new creature with a new name and new universe identification number.

But for the majority of hue-man children of God who have ever been born, lived out their short duration lives, and will for some future time to come, the true tragedy is that of a nebulous "fear-feeling of unworthiness" to attain to "true character perfection," while here on Urantia.
This "nebulous feeling of fear-unworthiness" is the "dark and foreboding cloud," which ever obscures the possibility of the attainment to manifest "true character" in a single lifetime, and must await a future and distant point along the journey through the Mansion Training Worlds (socialization planets).
And so, with the juxtaposition of the "inner ideal" must manifest as the "outer true character" personality, let us dive into exploring the 21st of the 28 principles in The Urantia Book.
48:7.23 21. The high mission of any art is, by its illusions, to foreshadow a higher universe reality, to crystallize the emotions of time into the thought of eternity.
Turning this Principle into a Personal "I am" Declaration
I am the "living art" -- the "high mission" to attain to the "living values" of true character. By my "projected illusions," I am foreshadowing my ascent into a higher universe reality-being. I am crystallizing the emotions of time into the thought of eternity.

Always remember: it is not possible to grow into the "living spiritual value" contained within an intellectual principle typed onto a page; you must "internalize" the principle by converting it into a personal "I am" declaration of the person you desire to become.
It is altogether too easy to conclude that the 21st of the 28 principles in The Urantia Book refers to only to "material works of art." But ask yourself the following question, meditating deeply in silence...
- What if the 21st principle is also referring to the children of God as "living-values-works-of-spiritual-art?"
No one will ever "tell" you how to "ascend beyond your mortal illusions of self-deception." You must learn, in honestly sincere cooperation with your indwelling Thought Adjuster, how to leave behind every beLIEf-scaffolding, which has "no survival value."
On May 13th, 2017, I wrote poetry with which I attempted to capture (for myself) the feeling of "ascending beyond the dream state" into the "superconscious soul-awakened" state of my "true character self."

The love of the Father

the dream in the bio-suit must end...

The eternal now...in each moment arriving...
in the...mind's eye...I am the soul that's glowing

It Takes Great Effort To Self-correct "Character Deficiencies"
However, this "pretending" not to have specific character deficiencies is self-delusion--the virtual reality hue-manimal consciousness you.
The "pretending" to be the higher ideal creates a feeling of "being in control," but in reality...is "out of control." And this "pretension" to a truer character often manifests as a...
- "controlling attitude" of dominating the conversation and activities of others, in order to
- avoid growing into one's "truer character" self.
Indeed, it takes the "greatest of efforts" to self-correct one's own "character deficiencies."
Until you choose to honestly, sincerely and wholeheartedly
But you will continue to fail to grow into your own "high mission" to become your own "higher universe reality" -- the "dream so real...it must be the real you," the superconscious fully awakened morontial soul of "living spiritual values," which the personality has fully "crystallized the emotions of time into the thought of the eternal you...translated-fused into the new universe creature...where the mortal, the morontial and the spirit-beings can no longer be distinguished one from the other; they are "one" fused together for eternity and throughout all infinity.
The 21st principle is about self-correction. And it takes experiential spiritual courage to self-correct, self-discipline and exercise self-control, and ever-momentarily self-direct back to alignment with Father's will, by giving our most honestly sincere cooperation to the spirit-leading of the indwelling divine spirit--the Thought Adjuster -- all of which leads to self-mastery.
The 21st of the 28 principles in The Urantia Book correlates to the individual child of God vibrationally responding to the marshalling impulse of the sixth (6th) Adjutant Mind spirit of Worship (cosmic insight). The 21st principle is the first (1st) of the set of principles 21 through 24, which are the generalized requirements to experientially master the second (2nd) psychic circle of experiential spiritual cosmic insight into the reality of the Paradise Father, also corresponding to the sixth (6th) planetary age and the sixth (6th) Mansion Training World system of educational and socialization equivalency requirements.
Note: Any of the first sixteen (20) principles representing the generalized requirements for the mastery of the seventh, six, fifth, fourth and third psychic circles of experiential spiritual intuition, experiential spiritual understanding, experiential spiritual courage, experiential spiritual knowledge, and experiential spiritual fraternalhood, which were not mastered (after entrance in the second (2nd) psychic circle) will be carried over into the second for further experiential acquirement.

1. Self-correction.
99:3.7 The great weakness of all this unrecognized and unconscious type of religious activity is that it is unable to profit from open religious criticism and thereby attain to profitable levels of self-correction. It is a fact that religion does not grow unless it is disciplined by constructive criticism, amplified by philosophy, purified by science, and nourished by loyal fellowship.
2. Self-control.
54:1.6 True liberty is the associate of genuine self-respect; false liberty is the consort of self-admiration. True liberty is the fruit of self-control; false liberty, the assumption of self-assertion. Self-control leads to altruistic service; self-admiration tends towards the exploitation of others for the selfish aggrandizement of such a mistaken individual as is willing to sacrifice righteous attainment for the sake of possessing unjust power over his fellow beings.
3. Self-direction.
36:5.8. 3. The spirit of courage—the fidelity endowment—in personal beings, the basis of character acquirement and the intellectual root of moral stamina and spiritual bravery. When enlightened by facts and inspired by truth, this becomes the secret of the urge of evolutionary ascension by the channels of intelligent and conscientious self-direction.

109:3.2 ...comparatively few will elect to ascend the moral heights beyond the hills of self-mastery and character acquirement to attain the higher levels of emerging spirituality.
