51 - Projecting the Lack You Project onto Yourself onto Everyone Around You
Projecting the Lack You Project onto Yourself
onto Everyone Around You
"A display of specialized skill does not signify spiritual capacity. Cleverness is not a substitute for true character."
"Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to such as pass that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and others." -Fyodor Dostoevsky
The Twenty-eight Principles and True Character
It seemingly took a long time for me to clearly see that the twenty-eight statements of high mortal philosophy (the 28 principles) found in Paper 48 - THE MORONTIA LIFE are a core template for the development of "true character."
These 28 principles begin and end with the development and manifestation of "true character."
It took even longer to clearly understand that each one of the twenty-principles represents an aspect development of "true character."
And to this very moment, I am ever and always working on ceasing to project the lack I project onto myself onto everyone around me.
- How can you become the...
- mind of perfect poise,
- fully matured soul (fully soul-consciously self-aware),
- fully spiritualized, and
- the brilliant manifestation of "true character,"
- without ceasing to project the lack you project onto yourself onto everyone around you?
"Rule your mind, or it will rule you." -Horatius
Anything and everything short of forever ceasing to project this programmed lack onto yourself and everyone around you is NOT "true character."
And anything and everything short of "true character" cannot fuse with the indwelling Thought Adjuster (Monitor, Controller).
This inner poise of the fully matured-fully spiritualized "true character" morontial soul is perfectly expressed in principle number twenty-eight (28).
"The argumentative defense of any proposition is inversely proportional to the truth contained." (U.B. 48:7.30)
2:7.1 All finite knowledge and creature understanding are relative. Information and intelligence, gleaned from even high sources, is only relatively complete, locally accurate, and personally true.
Again, it took a long time to understand that this last principle is an equation which defines the finality of the attainment to and manifestation of..."true character."
- Why is it so hard to see that the lack you are projecting onto yourself you project onto everyone around you?
- Is it because you are so fear-enslaved you won't "allow" yourself to move forward into the observer state of the soul-self-awareness of the consciousness of being conscious?
- Is it also because in this comfortably uncomfortable fear-enslaved state it is easier to beLIEve that only you are right, and the rest of the world is wrong?
- After all...don't you know so much more that everyone around you should beLIEve like you, understand your superior knowledge-authority, and never challenge your authority?
- Isn't this why you will debate with others (until the cows come home) that your beLIEfs are superior--you are more right, and they are just simply WRONG?
- Wouldn't it just hurt your inflated ego too much to admit to yourself that others are entitled to view the world differently than you?
- And wouldn't you feel the "sting" of the feeling of "losing control" by just "letting go" of further arguing for others to beLIEve in uniformity with your beLIEfs?
begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or even to control your emotions. -Motivational Doc
The equation contained in principle number twenty-eight is simple. The more you argue that your own beLIEfs are the truth, and the only truth, the less truth your beLIEfs contain. After all...if you are speaking the living truth of your experiences, there is no defense required.
And within these ideas I am presenting to you lies the reality of the difference between beLIEf and faith. BeLIEf is static--fossilized--dead. The living faith-state of speaking the truth of one's experiences is ever forward-progressing, ever-changing, ever-growing, and ever-expanding...God-ward.
And this, my friends, is why I am ever-momentarily--ever and always daily working toward permanently ceasing to ever project my remaining lack onto myself and onto you, when we have that rare and fortuitous opportunity to move beyond our beLIEfs into that wonderful high spiritual state of speaking truth to one another--the truth of our mutual true character.
82:1.10 ...Self-control, more and more self-control, is the ever-increasing demand of advancing mankind.
Be love--live love, live long, and "allow" yourself to grow into the morontial soul "true character" you--the "real" you.

Jesus Speaks of Love
In the study of the religious life of Jesus, view him positively. Think not so much of his sinlessness as of his righteousness, his loving service. Jesus upstepped the passive love disclosed in the Hebrew concept of the heavenly Father to the higher active and creature-loving affection of a God who is the Father of every individual, even of the wrongdoer.
~ The Urantia Book, (5:4.12)
"I have come into this world to do the will of my Father and to reveal his loving character to all mankind. That, my brethren, is my mission. And this one thing I will do, regardless of the misunderstanding of my teachings by Jews or gentiles of this day or of another generation. But you should not overlook the fact that even divine love has its severe disciplines. A father's love for his son oftentimes impels the father to restrain the unwise acts of his thoughtless offspring. The child does not always comprehend the wise and loving motives of the father's restraining discipline. But I declare to you that my Father in Paradise does rule a universe of universes by the compelling power of his love. Love is the greatest of all spirit realities. Truth is a liberating revelation, but love is the supreme relationship. And no matter what blunders your fellow men make in their world management of today, in an age to come the gospel which I declare to you will rule this very world. The ultimate goal of human progress is the reverent recognition of the fatherhood of God and the loving materialization of the brotherhood of man." ~ Jesus,
The Urantia Book, (143:1.4)
"Your inability or unwillingness to forgive your fellows is the measure of your immaturity, your failure to attain adult sympathy, understanding, and love. You hold grudges and nurse vengefulness in direct proportion to your ignorance of the inner nature and true longings of your children and your fellow beings. Love is the outworking of the divine and inner urge of life. It is founded on understanding, nurtured by unselfish service, and perfected in wisdom."
~ Jesus, The Urantia Book, (174:1.5)
"Love, John, is the supreme reality of the universe when bestowed by all-wise beings, but it is a dangerous and oftentimes semiselfish trait as it is manifested in the experience of mortal parents. When you get married and have children of your own to rear, make sure that your love is admonished by wisdom and guided by intelligence."
~ Jesus, The Urantia Book, (177:2.3)
When they had finished breakfast, and while the others sat by the fire, Jesus beckoned to Peter and to John that they should come with him for a stroll on the beach. As they walked along, Jesus said to John, "John, do you love me?" And when John answered, "Yes, Master, with all my heart," the Master said: "Then, John, give up your intolerance and learn to love men as I have loved you. Devote your life to proving that love is the greatest thing in the world. It is the love of God that impels men to seek salvation. Love is the ancestor of all spiritual goodness, the essence of the true and the beautiful." ~
The Urantia Book, (192:2.1)
